Karen Ellyn Dollaga "I am a mixture of sunshine, rain, and rainbows."
About her: She's 37 years old, an Entrepreneur (part-owner of KharLyn Topstore & Travel Company) and a licensed Educator. Born on the 23rd of August in the beautiful year of 1981, Sunday at 5pm. She's an only child. Her teaching career began on 2006 in a special needs school, Sta. Belinda Learning School, Cavite. Then, Little Wonders Nursery School, Dubai from 2007-2011. She also did some tutorials back then. In 2013, she went to Philippines hoping to revive her teaching career, so she took LET and taught in Dansart Angels Academy for 1 year (2014-2015), teaching English subjects from Grade 4 to 4th Year High School. She's been a class adviser of Grade 9 and 4th Year. So, she have total of 5 years teaching experience in the classroom setting.
Education matters: She completed her nursery at Montessori School in Panay Ave. Quezon City; studied kinder at Angelicum Sto. Domingo; completed prep-grade 4 at Holy Spirit Quezon City; finishes grade 5 to year 3 1/2 at Notre Dame Dadiangas for Girls (GenSan); finishes year 3 1/2 -4th year at Sta. Catalina College Legarda; got AB MassCommunication at Far Eastern University Manila; took Professional Education at De La Salle University Dasmariñas; got diploma at EMDI Institute of Media Studies (IB), Knowledge Village Dubai; and continuos Public Speaking Training at Toastmasters International.
Her hobbies according to her: "I love waking up each morning and to thank God for
everything. I like jumping and dancing around until I burn my belly fat. It
would be nice to plop down and curl up with a good book. Then pause for a while
to imagine my dreams I want to achieve. I also enjoy a moment of solitude.
There are times when silence is a gift. I love adventure, thrills, surprises
and changes around me. I love dinner dates, picnic, travel, lazy bed, laughing,
crying, snoozing and dreaming. I love to learn things and interested on how
things work. My interest varies from day to day but I am crazy about
movies with sense of direction. I love meeting strangers and friendly faces. I
am fascinated with travel, people, nature, experiences, stories, photography
and our sense of being. Jesus Christ is my religion. I belong to God the Father, I
am his daughter and forever I will be. The Holy Spirit is my guide."
Her personal mantra: "My talents belongs to God, I am here to share it to the
world. God is my hero…I am someone who followed her dreams directed
by God. I am brave to face the world this is how God teaches me my life’s
lesson. I am happy and content because I know I am walking on the
right path. It will take longer than I expect but I understand my journey will
always be special. I am successful because I am successful."
Rock bottom??
How did I overcome it?
"Baby! Let us rock n’ roll!"
God is my greatest fan, He is my best buddy, my teacher, my
mentor, He is also strict, sweet, handsome and forever loving. He simply loves me.
What can you do in your own way to contribute to change in
this world?
"I once taught change to my special needs students. I taught
them that change is part of our lives. We have to change to be a better person,
a better friend, a better version of yourself. Change is good. Change allows
you to grow and develop. Change allows you to edit the wrong things you did. We
cannot erase the past but we can change the outcome. Change is for the future
that means we have hope."
If not in your profession right now, who, what and where are
you?
"I want to be an astronaut, probably traveling, floating and
sipping coffee in the outer space."
Her voice matters: She said, " Ladies, let us be kind to one another. "
