Christine Mendez Mikuma "MUSIC is her mantra.
About her: She's an English teacher by profession practicing in her field for 4 years. Her birthdate is November 18, married and raising 3 children. She grew up with 6 more siblings. She's a Catholic by faith.
Schools attended: She went to Juan Sumulong Elementary School during grade grade school; completed high school at Doña Teodora Alonzo High School; and graduated college at Guzman College of Science and Technology.
Her hobbies: She likes singing, dancing, and watching her kids judo.
Who are you if you’re a superhero and why? She said, "Helen Parr (a.k.a. Elastigirl or Mrs. Incredible)is Mr. Incredible's wife. Helen can stretch any part of her body up to 300 feet and can be 1 mm thin and reshape her body in many ways. I am a woman with different varieties. I can turn into a plain housewife to an entertainer, I can sing with choreography like “Beyonce” (Lol), a career woman, a loving mom and most of all, a fearless mom who is always ready to protect her family. Elastigirl and me have so much things in common. Since her marriage to Bob, Helen has become a dedicated spouse and mother, although she had a higher capability to earn. In my case, there were many times I gave up working and just stay focused on my kids."
Did you ever find happiness and success together in your life? "Maybe yes. I don’t have any wishes other than for my kids' happiness. Their success is my happiness. Success, when they grow up into good citizens, responsible, with fear of God and good moms and wife to their future family.
Her contribution in changing the world: She sated, "I may not have an ability to give a big contribution in this world but maybe my small contribution will start a change by inspiring all moms. Whatever life throws us, never fail to love our kids and try to mould them to become good citizens of the world."
If not in your profession right now, who, what and where are you? Why? She said, "I planned my own destiny before I came here in Japan. I promised myself to finish my Bachelors Degree before I pursue singing career here. I made my talent, singing and dancing as my stepping stones. Maybe if I’m not a teacher here, I could be a dance choreographer like my brothers or a vocalist in a band."
Her voice matters: She concluded, "Just focus on your goal in life. There is no wrong in being ambitious. Dream high but make sure that you are doing something for it. You should put your heart in everything you do and don’t forget those people who were beside you when you were struggling. Always say “thank you” and always greet people with smile. Those are simple Japanese gesture I learned here but it really means a lot."
