Len Tobias "No longer I but Christ in me."
About her: A 42-year old career-oriented wife and mom of 3 wonderful sons. She's born on the 5th of August 1976 and grew up with her only brother. She found success in her profession as an Hotelier for 21 years as she is now in a Managerial position of one of the largest hotel group in Dubai, UAE. She's a Roman Catholic by faith.
Education matters: She completed her primary up to secondary levels at Maryhill Academy (now Maryhill College) in Lucena City; and graduated BS Tourism at University of the Philippines.
Her interests: She likes entrepreneurship, charity works, history and motivational activities.
Her own mantra: "No longer I but Christ in me. I believe that our lives should be lived as a testimony of God's love. Without Christ, we can no nothing therefore I fully offer my life, my being, in serving God. He works in me and I obey. It's a state of total surrender. I open myself and trust Him in every aspect of my life. Jesus is a great Leader, Teacher and Provider. When Christ is with us, we are secured, there is nothing to worry about."
A SUPERHERO: "I will be Mrs. Incredible aka Elastigirl. She is a mom first before a superhero who supports her husband and children. She is an incredible woman but would rather be the support of others. I can identify to her character as I am the same with my family. They always come first."
Did you ever find happiness and success together in your life?: "Happiness and success go hand in hand. You cannot be successful and be sad about it. However, these 2 are subjective. My measure of success and happiness is different with others. In the end, it's a choice. I choose to be happy, therefore I am successful."
Hitting the rock bottom and overcoming it: "Yes, as human beings, rock bottom is a phase one has to go through to learn and be strong. It is a test of strength and faith. I lost my job 10 years ago at a critical time when I was at an early stage of pregnancy with our second child. There was a global financial crisis and it was difficult to get a job. Plus, who would hire a pregnant woman? I was more of a liability than an asset. At the same time, my unborn child was diagnosed of Down Syndrome. My world fell apart. I was crying day and night, trying to find sense on what was happening. I questioned God and his promises. Through constant prayers and support of my family, I was able to overcome the grief and gradually changed my perspective. I accepted and owned the situation and started having a positive outlook. Mateo was born healthy, though had to go a minor heart operation. I was able to go back to work and establish a good career. Teo is now 9 years old and is a source of joy and inspiration in our family."
Greatest fan in life: "Probably my mom, my kids and my husband. My mom gives the best advise and has been there all through out. My husband gives me strength and always affirms my worth. My kids always express their love and I am daily inspired by these people. They make me want to be the best version of myself everyday."
What can you do in your own way to contribute to change in this world?: "Thank you very much for that wonderful question (pang-Ms. Universe and tanong). Change the world, wow these are big words. Hmmm.. change starts in small steps. If there is one thing that I am always promoting, it is the respect for human dignity. I respect everyone's individuality and worth. If I could influence people into doing the same, then I contribute to changing the world into a better place where everyone's existence is acknowledged and respected."
If not in your profession right now, who, what and where are you?: "I would probably be a full time mother and owner of a therapy centre for children with special needs. Who knows, this may happen in the near future."
Her voice matters: "Be proud of who you are, your roots, your nationality, your beliefs and your own being. Never compromise your values and the virtues you live by. You are exactly where you are because of a mission. Find that mission and purpose and do it for the glory of God. When changes happen and they are not according to your plans, trust the process of life. Life is well-meaning. There are much better opportunities to come and you will be amazed with the abundance it brings.Money and fame are good but must me used in helping people than personal gain. Luke 9:25 says What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?"
