Yes. To fulfil our responsibility is happiness. Overcoming adversity towards our goals is success!

Have you reached the rock bottom in life? How did you overcome it? Yes! I used those 'rocks' to build myself.

Who’s the greatest fan in your life? Family

What can you do in your own way to contribute to change in this world? Spread love from your family & it'll gradually transcend to neighbours, friends & even to enemies.

Known as Piacabs...

womancorps.blogspot.com

Odette Pia Cabanela keep the words of his father that, "you can be penniless with dignity than be rich without integrity."

Who's that girl?  This 38-year old part-time writer/artist was born on 21st of March, 1980 and grew up with 4 siblings. Her 15 years working as a part-time writer include such experiences like working at GMA network station and being a speechwriter for a former Defence Secretary, collectively in Los Angeles and Manila.

Education matters: She had attended Our Lady of Pillar Montessori Centre, Assumption College/Post Grad-International Academy for film and television in Cebu during her nursery and onwards.

Her other interests:  She likes reading, doing anything creative and new, museums, festivals, painting of course, binging on foreign films/shows, and daydreaming.

A mantra: She always keep her father's words of wisdom that, "you can be penniless with dignity than be rich without integrity." Another one is by Winston Churchill, "if you're going through hell, keep going."

She was born and raised as Catholic. She said, "I still believe in God and someone bigger than all of us, but I don't want to be a hypocrite and say I am one so I identify more myself as a non-practicing Catholic. I still pray and go to church sometimes."

Who are you if you're a superhero and why?  "I cannot fathom the idea of being one  but if I will be, I will be a very flawed superhero, WOLVERINE. My worst character is I'm too-self critical. I was at the peak of my game in Manila and had an International award under my belt. Then, I fell on hard times in my personal life. I retreated professionally. I was too harsh on myself for losing some years. But because of that trait, I was able to pull myself out. I will criticise myself for my mistake and will do so again if I let myself sink," she explained courageously.

Happiness and success together:  She said she had found it but she's searching for them again, hopefully at the same time in the future and wishing she could hold on to it until she leave this life.

At the rock bottom: She said she had experienced it. "I was raised in a household with a strong, solid foundation. I was nurtured by two great role models so I grew up believing I am strong enough not to falter or not to succumb to darkness when it comes. It might not take me faster than most people could, to get out of that black hole, but I'll get there. I always remember that no one is responsible for you but yourself," describing how she had overcome failures.

The greatest fan her life: It was her father and her 17-year old budding artist niece.

Her contribution to change the world: "The world is evolving fast and information is disseminated incorrectly all the time. When I was a TV writer back in Manila, I covered current affairs to get the real story out to masses. I also get to do that as a part time writer here in L.A. but as an artist/painter, I wish to give a different perspective to things through my works. Such as my work shown on my Instagram account, entitled Purity in the Water. Also, I currently volunteer to a group called Reading to Kids, to encourage the younger generation to read more in this age of gadgets and self-obsession," she notably said.

If not in your profession right now, who, what, and where are you? Why? She answered, " I'd be in a dark corner, questioning my life. I'm fortunate enough to have done creative things in my life when I could, as well as volunteer. One of my goals is to be able to do humanitarian work in Mindanao, Afghanistan and Syria.

Her voice matters: "I am saying this to myself more thanto anyone else. Career wise, it doesn’t matter if you were idle last year, or the year before that, or 10 years ago. What matters is you are moving now. Your worth is what you permit yourself, not what is predetermined by others for you," she concluded.

I also want to share that I have been recently selected as one of the artists to showcase her work at a major art festival in Los Angeles in March 20th. You can check me out through www.rawartists.org/piacabanela tickets are for purchase through an artist’s link.

A Divinian Optometrist...

womancorps.blogspot.com

Nina Isabela J. Villareal quoted: "You have to see the good in everything. Expect nothing and appreciate everything."

About her: Born and raised in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija; and grew up together with 1 other sibling. She was born on August 20, 1993. A 25-year old businesswoman and a healthcare professional as an Optometrist practicing her field of career for 2 years now.

From Nursery and onwards:  She graduated Elementary and High School at Divina Pastora College, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija; and got her College degree at Centro Escolar University, Manila.

Other interests:  She's fond of pets (puppies), European history especially Kings and Queens of UK, surfing the internet (social media), watching videos/movies, playing games, and scrolling Pinterest photos.

If you are a SUPERHERO, who are you and why?  "Batgirl." Because the subject of academic analysis regarding the portrayal of women in comics opens, it focuses on character's connection to the women's liberation movement; doctoral degree (similar to mine); and career as a librarian and on the character's double minority status as a woman and a person of color.

Did you ever find success and happiness together in your life?  Yes, definitely!

Overcoming the rock bottom:  She said, "I just keep on praying overtime and God was pouring guidance on me on that time and situations became shallow and lighter. Then everything falls into the right places."

"God is my enthusiastic devotee who keeps on believing in me as His child and my love ones who support me in moments that I need them. They are the greatest fan of my life."

My CONTRIBUTION to change the world  is to begin within myself; self-discipline may imply. Love others and spread the kindness of God and continue to be an instrument of being a blessing to others so that this world may change step by step and other people will attain goodness and our place will be a better place to live.

Other PROFESSION she like: If not an Optometrist, maybe she'll be a Veterinarian.  "I'll have my own veterinary clinic because that's my second choice before I enter college. For now, I'm so involve with my pets and wanting to buy more puppies to care for," she added.

Her voice matters:  "Women, we are all equal. We just have the power to control our abilities and capabilities to do our best in everything we do, so that we obtain the real triumph in our lives," she concluded.

She's a Born Again Christian by faith.

Her other interests include  cooking, singing, and baking.

"YOU cannot say you are successful if you are not HAPPY. It should come together." She said when asked about success and happiness in one box together.

Hitting the Hard Core in Life:  She said she had reached the rock bottom in life. For her, trials and difficulties are part of our daily lives. It was 3 or 4 years ago, when she discovered   that she has vitiligo (an illness). She was about to work in Qatar as nurse when suddenly the employer rejected her because of vitiligo. After being rejected abroad, she tried to look for a job here in Philippines but still employers rejects her maybe they thought the white patches in her skin are contagious. She felt so sad and so depressed. With the help of God and her family, she was able to overcome that stage and emotions. Her family showed her that she's important and that she is loved. "I am proud of myself and learn to ignore what other people say about me," she bravely said.

Who's the greatest fan in her life? Her family especially her kids.

In HER own words to make a CHANGE:  Change should start from one's self. You cannot contribute to change in this world if you do not experience it.

IF she's Not a Nurse, she'll be a DOCTOR.  "That is my greatest ambition in life. But after studying nursing, I decided to work abroad as a nurse so I can help my parents," she explained.

Her voice matters:  She said, "Always trust God, be positive and believe that you can do it."

Call her Nurse Ethel...

Ethel Obedoza said with pride that, "Family is first."

Something about her:  Born on the 25th of June, 1983 from the province of Pangasinan. She grew up happily together with her only 1 brother. This 35 years old mommy of 2 cute children has been practicing her profession as nurse for 15 years.

If not a nurse, maybe she'll be Wonder woman, because she said that as a wife and a mother she has the strength and speed to multi-task and finish her tasks as quickly as possible with durability to withstand pressure from all her problems.

Found happiness and success together in one box:  "Yes, now I can say that I'm both happy and successful because I have my wonderful and supportive family and at the same time I have my career that I can use to share my knowledge and capabilities to help other people," she explained.

The rock bottom in her life: She said that she had reached the rock bottom in life before she achieved her dream career in the US. She waited for 10 years for the petition to be approved but there was a time that she almost gave up on her dream because of multiple failure to pass one more exam to complete the requirements. She prayed hard and asked God's grace to give her the knowledge and confidence to pass. God answered her prayer and she's very thankful and blessed. She added, "We owe it all to Him."

Her MOM is the greatest fan of her life:  "When I was still young, she used to be a stage mother. She's always there to support and guide me in every program that I participated. She always believes in me, she told me to believe in myself and follow my dreams," she said.

Something she can do for a change:  She can help by giving donations to foundations that needed support financially specially to those children who are deprived of education.

Get to know her more: If she's not a nurse by profession, she said she'll be a simple housewife taking care of her family and at the same time helping her husband run a restaurant business in the Philippines. Because they both love to eat and explore different kinds of food.

Her voice matters:   "To all the women, just be strong and confident in everything you do. Continue to fight and never give up on your dreams. God will always provide because God is good all the time," she stated.
